Backups
How much information would you lose if a server failed today?
Almost every company believes it has backups. Few have tested them. The difference shows up on the day something has to be restored.

What's at stake
- A disk fails and takes with it the information that only lived there.
- A deleted folder nobody noticed for weeks.
- A backup that ran without errors but doesn't restore.
- Copies kept on the same network the incident also reached.
How we work on it
We define what's critical
Not everything needs the same backup. We go through which information you can't afford to lose and where it comes from.
Backup and recoveryProtected copies
We implement the backup with whichever platform fits your infrastructure: one copy on-site and another off-site, protected against modification or deletion.
Backup and recoveryQuarterly testing
Every quarter we restore sample information. A backup that has never been tested is an assumption, not a protection.
Backup and recoveryWhat's worth making clear
- Frequency, coverage and recovery times are defined in the proposal. There is no figure that applies to everyone.
- We do not promise immediate recovery or zero data loss: there is always an interval between one copy and the next.
- A backup service is not a business continuity plan. Impact analysis, replication and crisis plans are separate projects.
- Restore time depends on the volume of information, the internet connection and what has to be recovered.
Frequently asked questions
How often do backups run?
It depends on how often your information changes and on what we agree in the proposal. We don't apply a single frequency to every company.
We already use OneDrive. Isn't that the same?
No. OneDrive syncs files: if one is deleted or encrypted, the change syncs too. A backup keeps separate, protected copies with a history you can restore from.
What does it mean for copies to be immutable?
That for the configured period they cannot be modified or deleted, not even with administrator credentials. That is what stops ransomware from encrypting the backups too.
Shall we test whether your backups actually restore?
Book a conversation at no cost. We review what is being backed up today, what isn't, and what is worth protecting first.
